An argument that took place aboard a sea cucumber harvesting boat has lead to a 26 year old male getting attacked by a knife and thrown overboard.
Police revealed that they received information of a seriously injured male receiving treatment in AA. Maalhos health center at approximately 3:06 am on Friday. Due to the seriousness of the injuries, the patient has now been transferred to IGMH, Male’ with the assistance of MNDF.
According to preliminary investigations, police disclosed that the unnamed male was attacked by a knife multiple times and then thrown overboard from a sea cucumber harvesting vessel. IGMH reports that he is in serious condition.
Police have since made an arrest with regards to the case. It has been revealed that the person detained is a crew member of the boat, however, no further details are known.
