Environment Minister of Maldives, Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan has traveled to Spain to attend the The UN Climate Change Conference (COP25).
As in previous environmentally related conferences and summits, Maldives is expected to advocate for assistance in protecting the environment and mitigating the impacts of climate change in this conference as well.
This year, the President of Maldives also spoke at the UN general assembly highlighting the importance of international support in fighting the climate emergency.
The current government has made huge promises in tackling climate change issues and people are eager to see when massive land reclamation and clearing out of green areas of the Maldives would come to a stop or be properly regulated.
