AGO advises to make separate lane for motorcycles on Addu Link Road

The Auditor General Office of Maldives has advised the Addu Link Road to have a separate lane for motorcycles.

The advise came following a preliminary report conducted in relation to the many, and at times fatal accidents that have taken place on the tarmac road.

The report highlighted that one of the main causes of accidents on the road as all vehicles having to move on one lane.

In addition to the separate lane for the motorcycles, the report also suggested a special pavement for joggers, due to the increase in people using the road for exercise and jogging purposes, apart from managing the road so that it is well lit at night and to ensure all pot holes are fixed.

The work of fixing lights on the link road has already begun.
