Egypt – Muhammad Hosni El Sayed Mubarak, or more famously remembered as Hosni Mubarak has died at the age of 91, following deterioration of his health.
The former military and political leader of Egypt was the 4th president of the country, having have started his reign at 1981 which lasted until 2011. His regime came to an end when he resigned following continuous protests against his administration in the country.
Following his resignation he was charged with corruption and murder of 239 protestors who took to the streets to voice out against his administration. He was later convicted and served some time in jail before he was released when he appealed in court against his sentence.
Mohamed Morsi, Mubarak’s successor as president passed away last year.
