Covid-10: Hulhumale’ Hospital to start testing tomorrow

Male’, Maldives – Hulhumale’ Hospital has been scheduled to start testing for Covid-19 tomorrow.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) on Wednesday night, Spokesperson Dr. Nazla Rafeeq revealed that Hulhumale’ Hospital will begin testing for the virus on Thursday. She also revealed that with in this month, an additional testing facility will be made available in the Male’ region, this time at the Food and Drug Authority.

While there are existing testing facilities in ADK, Indira Gandi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), and at the Police lab, which are all in the Male’ region, testing mechanisms have also been set up at other parts of the country, all the way from the north to the south.

At present, more than 100,000 samples have been tested for Covid-19 in the country, with over 8,800 cases having have tested positive, and 2,509 active cases.
