Male’, Maldives – Velana International Airport (VIA) has been nominated in the “Leading Airport” category of World Travel Awards.
22 airports have been nominated for this category along with VIA, including Dubai International Airport, JFK international Airport of America and Changi Airport of Singapore.
Even though VIA had been nominated for this category several times in the past, the airport has not won the award yet.
In addition to this category, VIA has also been nominated as the Leading Airport of Indian Ocean. Furthermore, the national airline of Maldives, “Maldivian” has been nominated as the Leading Airline of Indian Ocean as well as Leading Airline brand.
The winners will be announced this coming November.
