Malé, Maldives — Maldives has been nominated for 8 categories in one of the prestigious honors program in global travel and tourism, World Travel Awards.
The 8 categories Maldives has been nominated for are:
- World’s Leading Beach Destination.
- World’s Leading Cruise Destination.
- World’s Leading Destination.
- World’s Leading Dive Destination.
- World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination.
- World’s Leading Island Destination.
- World’s Leading Tourist Board.
- World’s Most Romantic Destination.
While the program is held annually, the 27th World Travel Awards program will be selecting winners from several categories of various regions. The winners will be decided upon depending on the number of votes a nominee recieves from each category.
Votings for all categories will be open until 0000hrs of October. Therefore anyone, travel professionals or a regular customer from around the world, who wishes to vote can do so via here.
Regarding the awards program, the Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) of Maldives stated that the nominations for the 27th World Travel Awards will help in strengthening the image and also increase the brand presence across the world.
“Additionally, Maldives has secured multiple awards in various categories over the years including the World’s Leading Airport Resort, World’s Leading Beach Destination, World’s Leading Honeymoon Resort, World’s Most Romantic Resort and World’s Leading Luxury Island Resort in 2019,” MMPRC continued.
Over the past 16 years, the island nation has managed to also acheive the famous Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination award a total of 12 times.
