California, USA – Apple released a new iPhone lineup along with Mini HomePod last night.
Four brand new iPhones were released, and they are;
- iPhone 12 Mini (5.4″)
- iPhone 12 (6.1″)
- iPhone 12 Pro (6.1″)
- iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7″)
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini come in five fresh finishes. They are White, Black, PRODUCT Red, and a whole new Blue and Green. Both phones allow the capacity of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. The starting price of the iPhone 12 is USD 799, and the starting price of the iPhone 12 Mini is USD 699.
The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max come with four finishing touches. They are Graphite, Silver, Gold and a new Pacific Blue. Both phones have capacities of 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. iPhone 12 Pro starts at USD 999 and iPhone 12 Pro Max starts at USD 1,099.
Apple also went on to say that all the iPhones will have the toughest glass any phone has ever had. Apple named the new glass Ceramic Shield which dramatically increases the toughness of iPhones. iPhone 12 is 11% thinner than iPhone 11 and also 16% lighter.
All iPhones also include a brand-new chip, called A14 Bionic which is 50% faster.
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will be available to preorder on Friday and will ship on October 23. The iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available to preorder on November 6 and will ship on November 13
A mini version of HomePod was also released today, which starts at USD 99 which comes in White and Space Gray.
Apple is also working on becoming carbon-neutral by 2030. Towards becoming carbon-neutral Apple has decided not to include a charging block and headphones, making the box even smaller. Chief Executive Officer of Apple Tim Cook ended the event after saying that this will be a whole new era for iPhones.
