Bangladesh High Commissioner pays courtesy call on Vice President

Male’, Maldives – A courtesy call was paid to Vice President Faisal Naseem by the High Commissioner of The People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Maldives, Rear Admiral Nazmul Hassan this morning at the President’s office.

The High Commissioner was congratulated on his appointment and Vice President Faisal expressed his gratitude for the Bangladeshi government for their friendly relations and aid provided to Maldives.

VP Faisal then mentioned the positive impact of the Bangladeshi expatriates working and residing in Maldives prior to thanking the Bangladeshi government for their current support to  Maldives’ worker regularization and repatriation programs. He then highlighted the high number of expats contributing to the Maldivian workforce and said that the government will continue to ensure their safety and security.

Furthermore, the High Commissioner also thanked the Maldivian government for their support for the Bangladesh nationals residing in Maldives during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to this, the Vice President and High Commissioner discussed about taking forward bilateral cooperation in a range of fields starting from higher education to agriculture and other avenues for increased cooperation and collaboration.
