JUST IN: Kerafa Naseem appointed as the new Health Minister

Male’, Maldives – President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Ahmed Naseem (Kerafa Naseem) as the new Health Minister of Maldives, today.

Spokesperson of the President’s Office, Ibrahim Hoodh took to Twitter to reveal the appointment of Naseem who was serving as the Maldives as the Minister at the President’s Office until today, saying that the letter of appointment has been presented to Minister Naseem at the President’s Office today.

Naseem has been a long time server of various administrations of the Maldivian government, beginning from the time of Ibrahim Nasir. He even served as the Foreign Minister of Maldives during the presidency of Mohamed Nasheed, who now serves Maldives as the Speaker of the Parliament.

Naseem’s appointment to the position was due to the former Health Minister of Maldives Abdullah Ameen tendering his resignation on Wednesday following multiple accusations of corruption and criticism from the public and political arena regarding the procurement of 75 ventilators from a Dubai company.
