Male’, Maldives – Human Rights Comission of the Maldives (HRCM) has started to investigate the case of the man found dead in the lagoon area near Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Male’.
However, the commission has not yet revealed any further information regarding the case as it is currently being investigated.
The 31 year old local was found dead in the sea on Friday morning, upon which he was taken to IGMH, where it was determined that the cause of death may not have been of natural causes. Hence it has been decided to perform an autopsy.

Police have asked for public assistance in further investigating the case and urge anyone who was at Rasfannu during 09:00 to 12:00 of Friday, or anyone who has any information about the death, to come forward.
