Male’, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) has removed R. Ungoofaaru from monitoring status after four days.
The island was placed on monitoring after a random sample from the island came back positive. However, upon a second testing, it was confirmed to be a false positive, and hence, the island has now been brought back to normal status.
As per the latest records of HPA, currently there are active cases in 18 islands, which amount to a total of 28 cases. They are;

- Hdh. Hanimaadhoo: 01 case
- Hdh. Neykurendhoo: 01 case
- Hdh. Nolhivaram: 01 case
- R. Rasgatheem: 01 case
- R. Dhuvaafaru: 02 cases
- B. Dhonfanu: 01 case
- B. Kendhoo: 01 case
- B. Hithaadhoo: 01 case
- Lh. Kurendhoo: 01 case
- K. Maafushu: 01 case
- Dh. Bandidhoo: 01 case
- Th. Madifushu: 02 cases
- L. Hithadhoo: 01 case
- L. Kadhdhoo: 03 cases
- Ga. Kolamaafushi: 01 case
- Gn. Fuvahmulah: 02 cases
- S. Hithadhoo: 03 cases
- S. Feydhoo: 01 case
The total recorded toll of Covid-19 in the country is at 11,659, while 10,814 have already recovered, leaving only 800 active cases in the country. Unfortunately, the virus has claimed 38 lives so far.
