Covid-19: Additional 69 confirmed cases and 26 recoveries

Malé, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) announces additional 69 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 26 recoveries over the past 24 hours.

35 of the confirmed 69 cases were recorded from the greater Malé area, 08 from the islands and the remaining 26 cases from the operational resorts in Maldives.

With these 69 cases that were confirmed over the past 24 hours, Maldives now has a total 960 active cases at present, summing up the confirmed positive cases to date to a total of 14,582.

While 69 people tested positive for Covid-19, 26 people have completely recovered from the virus over the past 24 hours and the total recoveries has now reached 13,566. The recovery rate has increased rapidly from less than 60% to 92% over the past months.

Till date, 49 people have passed away from Covid-19 in Maldives. The deceased are 42 Maldivian nationals, 6 Bangladeshi nationals and a Filipino national.
