Male’, Maldives — Maldives Inland Revenue Authorities (MIRA) alerts all taxpayers of the upcoming tax deadlines in the midst of rising COVID-19 positive cases.
MIRA noted that the last week of January 2021 contains numerous tax-related deadlines including paying GST and Income tax.
January 28, 2021, is the last day to sort out and pay the GST of December 2020 and the last quarter of 2020.
January 31, 2021, is the deadline for submitting the Statement of Interim Payment for Income tax.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and social distancing, MIRA informed the citizens that on the contrary to other days, there would be fewer counters for payment. This is why, MIRA advices all taxpayers to submit their tax payments at the earliest and to not wait till the last minute.
MIRA encouraged all the taxpayers to make use of the online platform for submitting the statements and making payments using their respectable MIRA Connect account. Taxpayers will also have the option to use Vaaru Pay and MIRA mobile online applications.
