Male’, Maldives — The employees of a Velaa Private Island were given a service charge of USD 4,079.10 for the month of January. This is approximately MVR 62,899.
The Facebook Page Resort Workers Maldives informed that despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Velaa has distributed the highest service charge out of all resorts. Along with this, reports state that the resort avoided letting go of any employees due to the global pandemic and closing of border and continued to provide them with basic salary and allowances.
The five star resort in Maldives, Velaa always manages to secure the top position for the highest service charge distributed per every month in the resorts of Maldives.
Coming after Velaa Private Island is Waldorf Astoria, which secured the second position on the list by distributing USD 3,370 (MVR 51, 502.8). Cheval Blanc Randheli comes third in the list by distributing USD 3,315 (MVR 51, 117) while One & Only Reethirah distributed USD 3,007 (MVR 46,367) to its employees.
Apart from these, the Four Seasons Resorts Maldives distributed USD 2,960.99, the Nautilus Maldives gave a service charge of USD 2,886.90 and the Joali Maldives distributed USD 2,761.41 to their employees on the first month of 2021.
