Addu City, Maldives – Four new cases of Covid-19 have been reported from Hulhumeedhoo, Addu City.

‘The Times of Addu’ has been able to verify via the Hulhumeedhoo Health Center, that four expatriates have tested positive for Covid-19 from the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) site located in the island.

It has been further detailed that the cases were identified after tests were carried out on two individuals from the MTCC site who consulted the health center presenting symptoms of the infection. This was followed by additional samples taken from the cite, which resulted in the identification of two more positive cases.

While several media have reported that the adjoined islands, Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo, collectively known as Hulhumeedhoo have been placed under monitoring status, Health Protection Agency (HPA) or the Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) is yet to confirm this.

Stay tuned for details.
