Malé, Maldives – The latest data by the Ministry of Tourism of Maldives has revealed that so far, a total of 121,694 tourists have arrived to the Maldives in 2021.
This includes the 92,103 tourists who visited Maldives in January, and the 29,591 visitors who came in February. This comes with Russia reigning as the top market, having have brought in a total of 27,041 tourists this year, with India following in second with 26,292 visitors. Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Romania, Germany and France, along with the UK, Czech Republic and Switzerland have also made it to the list of the top 10 markets bringing in tourists in to the Maldives.
As the demand increases, Maldives is also working on increasing the capacity available for tourists. Currently, there are a total of 43,908 beds available from 145 resorts, 357 hotels and guest houses, as well as 136 safari vessels.
Currently, there are only few restrictions for visitors entering the country, with just the requirement to produce a negative PCR test administered 96 hours prior to departure.
