All nine onboard crashed Manta Air seaplane discharged from hospital

Malé, Maldives – Manta Air informs that the nine people onboard the seaplane which crashed earlier this morning have been discharged from the hospitals.

The nine individuals include 6 passengers and 3 crew members, who were taken to Hulhumalé hospital and treetop hospital for treatment.

The seaplane crashed into the sea while attempting to land at Velana International Airport and is is currently in the process of being salvaged for further investigations.

The airline thanked Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) and Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) along with other responding agencies and their crew for acting professionally and swiftly to take care of its passengers during the crash.

Manta Air says that their highest priority at present is to provide assistance to families of passengers and crew.

Meanwhile, MACL informs that the accident is being investigated and recovery of the plane is now in progress.
