Sea cruise to begin between Bangladesh and Maldives

Male’, Maldives — The Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina and the newly-appointed High Commissioner of the Maldives to Bangladesh, Shiruzimath Sameer has discussed about beginning sea cruise services between the two countries.

Bangladeshi media outlets have revealed that on February 17th, Commissioner Shiruzimath had met Prime Minister Hasina at her official residence Gono Bhaban in Bangladesh.

During their meeting, the two individuals had discussed several items including commencing sea cruise between Bangladesh and Maldives. According to international media, sea cruise is expected to begin between the two countries by the end of this year.

Along with this, the Bangladeshi Prime Minister also put emphasis on the need for an exchange of experience and assistance between the two friendly countries in deep sea fisheries.

The Prime Minister also talked about the number of Maldivian students who are currently pursuing their higher studies in Bangladesh. She informed that these students will be administered with the Covid-19 vaccine as soon as all the teachers are vaccinated. She further urged more Maldives students to come to Bangladesh in large numbers to pursue higher studies as Bangladesh has established several new universities specializing in engineering, medical and aviation as well.

In addition to this, Sheikh Hasina also urged the businessmen of Maldives to invest in agriculture and agricultural goods to increase the business relationship between the two countries.

The Commissioner of Maldives extended gratitude for the aid Bangladesh has been providing to Maldives during global Covid-19 pandemic.
