Malé, Maldives – Local news report that the agreement for Addu road development project will be signed tomorrow as part of the visit from Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India.
Minister Jaishankar is expected to arrive in the Maldives sometime today as part of a two day visit.
The Addu road development project falls under the umbrella of the USD 147.1 million loans provided to Maldives by the Exim Bank India. The project is expected to be complete in two years.
The project is supposed to create water drainage systems in the roads of all districts in Addu City and development of roads that range above 40km.
The Addu road development project is expected to bring a solution to flooding and other existing problems in the road systems of Addu City.
