SG of IRFC congratulates MRC for including migrant workers in vaccination program

Male’, Maldives — The Secretary General of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IRFC), Jagan Chapagain congratulates the Maldives Red Crescent team for including migrant workers in the vaccination program of Maldives.

Secretary General, Chapagain tweeted to congratulate the Red Crescent team of Maldives for their kind words and action used in including the migrant workers in Maldives in the Covid-19 vaccination program, irrespective of their legal status.

Maldives Red Crescent stated that for the vaccination to be effective in the country, it is important for the vaccination to be made accessible to everyone, so that the community can benefit from it.

It is through vaccinating as many people as possible that the community can become safe and healthy.

Red Crescent Maldives informed that they are currently working with the relevant public authorities and agencies to facilitate the registration process for the COVID19 vaccination for undocumented migrants.

The humanitarian NGO invited all the undocumented workers in Maldives to register for the vaccination program as unlike Maldivians and migrant workers with valid work permits can sign up via the central my.health.mv portal.

To register for vaccination, undocumented workers are encouraged to contact the Maldivian Red Crescent’s Migrant Support Centre on
3307665, from 10 AM to 5 PM, Saturday to Thursday, and book appointments to proceed with the registration process.
