MP Nashiz appointed as new Vice Chair of CAPAC

Male’, Maldives —The Member of Constituency of Kinbidhoo and the Chair of Maldivian Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee, Mohamed Nashiz has been appointed as the new ice Chair of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Association of Public Accounts Committees (CAPAC).

On the CAPAC General Meeting and Conference held on Tuesday, Nashiz was appointed as the Vice Chair of the Executive Committee of CAPAC. Nashiz was initially a member of Executive Committee.

Estbalished in 2015, CAPAC is a network used to strengthen the public financial management and accountability that is needed to maintain the trust of citizens and the integrity of governments and legislatures. The key functions of CAPAC include of defining, publishing and promoting the standards of good practice, in line with Commonwealth principles, to help the CAPAC member committees to be more effective, transparent and independent.

Over the past six years, so far a total of 40 countries throughout the world has adopted the principles of CAPAC.
