Male’, Maldives —The President of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has declared that the National Drug Agency (NDA) will function under the Ministry of Health from today onwards.
Under the powers vested upon him in Article 116, Section (a) of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives, President Solih has made the decision that the National Drug Agency (NDA) will function under the Ministry of Health from today onwards.
It was previously under the supervision of the Ministry of Gender, Family, and Social Services.
The National Drug Agency was established on January 2012, during Current Speaker and Former President Mohamed Nasheed’s presidency. It undertakes the functions that were previously performed by the Department of Drug Prevention and Rehabilitation Service.
