Curfew time extended in Addu City

Addu City, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced that the curfew timings in Addu City have been extended to 18:00 till 04:00.

According to HPA this will come in to effect tomorrow onwards till seven days.

During curfew times, going out in public and the operation of any vehicles on the road is prohibited.

Further restrictions imposed also stated that going out in groups of more than 3 is also not allowed under the new guidelines, and that when out, masks are always mandatory in the region.

In addition to these, dine-ins and operations of roadside food stalls, as well as hair saloons has also been suspended, with only delivery allowed for restaurants and cafés. However, he revealed that shops will be open as per the Health Protection Agency (HPA) guidelines during this time.

Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) had revealed that while 17 people tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday, the total number of positive cases currently active in Addu City has risen to 78. From the total positive cases, 336 direct contacts have been identified so far.

From the statistics revealed by AEH, there are total 23 cases from Hithadhoo, 06 cases from Feydhoo, 39 cases from Hulhudhoo, 09 cases from Meedhoo and 01 case from Shangri-La Villingili Resort & Spa.
