Covid-19: 101st death recorded in Maldives!

Malé, Maldives — Health Protection Agency (HPA) has recorded an additional death due to Covid-19 rising the country’s total to 101.

HPA had just announced that a 70 year old Maldivian female who was admitted at Hulhumalé Covid Facility has passed away at 18:00 today.

In addition to this, a 56 year old Maldivian female had passed away at 04:41 this morning. This also comes while an 80 year old Maldivian female had passed away at 22:44 last night at Hulhumalé Covid-19 Facility and a 64 year old Maldivian male had passed away at 00:14 this morning at Dharumavantha Hospital Covid-19 facility DH11 marking the 98th and 99th deaths.

While 741 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday. In the statistics released by HPA, it was detailed that out of the 741 cases, 560 were from the Malé area, while 156 cases were recorded from inhabited islands. The figures also included 25 case from operational resorts which brought up the total active cases in the country to 15,958.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the country has reached 44,523 out of which 28,459 patients have made full recoveries, as of 18:00 of May 15, 2021.
