Addu City, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA), has decided to ease the curfew restrictions placed in Hithadhoo, Addu City, shortening the curfew hours From 16:00 till 04:00.
Initially, the curfew hours in Hithadhoo were from 16:00 till 08:00. However, as the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases decreases in the island, HPA has decided to shorten the curfew time, along with easing some of the restrictions as well.
This includes allowing residents to go out without a household permit for essential purposes before the curfew. Along with allowing, restaurants and cafés to provide delivery services till 22:00. However, special permits are required to carry out delivery services during curfew hours.
HPA has also given residents of Hithadhoo permission to open shops till 16:00 and permission for construction workers and normal workers, who are given permission from Hithadhoo S.S.D, to work from morning 07:00 till 18:00.
While some restrictions were eased in Hithadhoo, congregational prayer gatherings in mosques are still not allowed in the island.
Over the past 24 hours, only one new case of COVID-19 was recorded in Hithadhoo. With todays case the total number of positive cases recorded in Addu City reached 451, out of which 132 cases remain active. They are 128 cases from Hithadhoo and 04 cases from Maradhoo. Till date, 317 patients made full recoveries in Addu City.
