Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) on Thursday, announced that they will commence the administration of Covishield second dose in Addu City this Saturday.

AEH states that the administration of vaccines will continue through an online appointment system. The hospital recently opened up for appointments for those who have not yet received the second dose of Covishield vaccine after receiving the first.

Administration of vaccines in Hithadhoo will continue at Addu High School and as for the other islands, the respective health centres will carry out the administration of vaccines.

In addition to the second dose of Covishield vaccine, the hospital will also give out the first dose of Sinopharm vaccine.

Maldives recently saw the biggest wave of Covid-19 to have hit the country since the pandemic began in early 2020. However, the cases are currently decreasing and HPA has been easing some of the protective measures implemented. Alarmingly, the most recent case numbers indicate a higher positive rate in the islands while capital city Malé recovers.
