Male’, Maldives – Economic Minister of Maldives, Fayyaz Ismail stated that the Economic Ministry is trying to provide online services even during off-work hours.
Several citizens have complained as some of the Government’s Ministry’s can only provide online services during their working hours, including the inability of the Economic Ministry to provide online services during work off hours. The topic is widely discussed on social media with some citizens expressing disbelief that government portals do not accept applications outside official working hours.
Speaking at local media outlet “Sun” regarding the concerns of the public, Minister Fayyaz stated that the Ministry faces multiple difficulties in providing such online services twenty-four hours a day, one of the biggest difficulties being the lack of employees in the Ministry.
Despite this, Minister Fayyaz added that the Ministry is trying to provide online services even during work off hours by increasing man power to process the applications presented through the online website.
Currently we have online expat services available 24/7, other services will also be available in the future.
