Malé, Maldives – The Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has stated that Maldives will achieve the target of welcoming 1 million tourists by the end of this month, October 2021.
The Minister stated this in a tweet, highlighting the hope that the island nation will also achieve the target of 1.3 million tourist arrivals in 2021.
Meanwhile, the statistics by Tourism Ministry show that the Maldives has received over 960,000 tourists as of Thursday.
Of the 962،490 tourist arrivals, the majority source market is India with 219،381 tourists. Russia follows with 180،517 tourist arrivals. Other top source markets include Germany, USA, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Spain, UK and France.
