Addu EOC reports over 100 new cases in 24hrs

Addu City, Maldives – Addu Emergency Operation Center (Addu EOC) reveals that 109 people tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.

The statistics released by Addu EOC shows that with the additional 109 cases confirmed yesterday, the total number of active cases in Addu City has risen to 687.

At present, the highest number of active cases are in Hithadhoo with 366 cases, followed by Feydhoo with 119 active Covid-19 cases and Maradhoo with 85 cases, while Maradhoofeydhoo has 41 cases.

AEH further informs that there are 52 active cases in Meedhoo and 20 active cases in Hulhudhoo as of this Sunday.

Additionally, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) reveals that 1,576 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the Maldives. Of the 1,576 new cases, 517 were from the Malé area, while 771 cases were recorded from inhabited islands. The figures also revealed that 87 new cases were found from operational resorts.

Maldives also recorded an additional death today with the passing of a 77 year old Maldivian woman admitted at the Hulhumalé facility. This is the 285th Covid-19 death.
