Malé, Maldives – The Ministry of Islamic Affairs on Saturday declared tomorrow, 2 May 2022, as the Eid al-Fitr this year.
While Eid is determined by the sighting of the moon on the night of the 29th day of Ramadan, Islamic Ministry announced that the moon was not sighted.
The ministry also stated that the moon has been not been sighted in the Maldives and other Islamic countries. Following this, the Ministry declared 2 May to be Eid.
