India to export 520 tonnes of sugar to Maldives

New Delhi, India – The Government of India has issued an export release order of 520 metric tons of sugar to the Maldives under the bilateral trade agreement between the two countries.

The export release order dated 14/06/2022 was published yesterday by the Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) of the Government of India on its official Twitter handle. The order states that the Ministry of Commerce in reference to a previous notification, has authorized the export of various commodities to the Maldives under the trade agreement.

The order further states that the Directorate of Sugar and Vegetable Oils of the DFPD will grant permission to Hari & Co. International LLP, an Indian international trading company based in Chennai, to export a quantity of 520 metric tons of sugar to Maldives in respect of an application forwarded by State Trading Organization (STO), the regulatory body of staple foods in Maldives. The sugar export is expected to be completed within 90 days from the release of this order.
