Safaath appointed as communication strategist of Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Malé, Maldives – President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Safaath Ahmed Zahir as the Communication Strategist at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Safaath was appointment to the position at Deputy Minster’s level brining the number of deputy minister level positions in the ministry to 5.

Safaath previously served as an Assistant Director in the President’s Office. She also worked as a financial analyst and business consultant.

Zahir is a leading women’s rights activist in the Maldives. She founded the non-profit organization Women and Democracy to help promote gender diversity in workplaces across the country. In 2016, she received the Queen’s Young Leaders Award at Buckingham Palace for taking the lead in transforming the lives of others and making a lasting difference in her community.

Safaath Ahmed Zahir completed her master’s in Finance and Investment at the University of Nottingham and her higher education in Banking and Finance at Monash University.
