Muscat, Oman – Maldives has secured the title of the World’s Leading Destination for the third year in a row at the World Travel Awards 2022.
While is the third consecutive time that Maldives has won the award and also the first time Maldives has received such an honor for three consecutive years.
Minister of Tourism, Dr Abdulla Mausoom And CEO and MD of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Thoyyib Mohammed, accepted the award on behalf of the nation at the awards ceremony held at Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Oman.
The MMPRC said the third time the award will further strengthen Maldives reputation as a popular tourism destination. The award will further enhance Maldives reputation as a global leader in the transport industry, they said.
Maldives beat out 18 other countries for this title- Dubai, Portugal, Indonesia, and Greece among them.
