President meets national beach volleyball and bodybuilding teams

Malé, Maldives – President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met on Monday with the men’s national beach volleyball and bodybuilding teams.

The national beach volleyball team recently won gold at the Central Asian Beach Volleyball Tournament. The national bodybuilding team won gold, silver, and bronze at the World Bodybuilding and Physique Championships.

Speaking with the teams, President Solih congratulated them on their recent success at the international sports tournaments. He also highlighted the administration’s commitment to sports development and providing opportunities for local athletes. He added that the administration’s efforts are bearing fruit.

President Solih also assured the teams that the administration remains committed to providing more training opportunities. He added that beach volleyball and water sports are two fields that could be developed further.

At the meeting, Minister Mahloof highlighted the administration’s achievements in developing sports over the past four years, including the recent wins for the beach volleyball and bodybuilding teams. He also extended his gratitude to President Solih for his commitment to developing sports.

Members of the beach volleyball and building associations also briefed President Solih about upcoming events and tournaments at the meeting.

While the men’s national beach volleyball team won gold at the Central Asian Beach Volleyball Tournament, the national bodybuilding team won one gold, one silver, and four bronze medals at the World Bodybuilding and Physique Championships. It is the first gold medals for the Maldives at the beach volleyball tournament and bodybuilding championship.
