Three Maldivians who got arrested in Don Mueang Airport, Thailand last Thursday has been released on bail, officials confirmed.
Thailand Customs confirmed the detention of three Maldivians from the airport for trying to smuggle out illegal animals from the country. Local media outlets reported they were trying to smuggle out exotic spiders and duck eggs out of Thailand.
Authorities later arrested the three Maldivians, but no details were released. They were released on bail this week, however, investigations from Thailand authorities continue.
Maldivian Embassy to Thailand has not commented on the issue as of now.
