Gan Airport project to start on Sunday

Addu International Airport development project will start on Sunday, June 4th, Government has announced.

President Solih is also planning to visit Addu City in the coming days. This project will be kickstarted by the President, Economic Ministry informed.

Solih Administration has pledged to conduct over USD 800M worth development projects in Addu City, mainly from a credit facility from India’s Exim bank. Already, road development projects and reclamation projects have started.

Government plans to make Addu International Airport which can cater to 1.5 million passengers annually. This is expected to boom tourism industry in the southern atolls of the country.
