Six applicants including Mariyam Waheeda, who has spent more than 20 years in the media industry have applied for the two vacant position of the Broadcasting Commission of Maldives.
The two positions became available following the resignation of the president of the Commission, Mohamed Shuaib and the removal of the vice president of the Commission Fathimath Zaina, by the Parliament. Out of the individuals who applied for the position of the Commission’s president, Mariyam Waheeda topped the list of those endorsed by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Out of the individuals who applied for the vacant position of vice president of the commission, Imrana Binth Abdulla topped the list.
