Maldives signs with Morocco to waive off visa requirement for Maldivians

Maldives and Morocco have signed agreements waving of visa requirements for Maldivians entering into Morocco on Friday.

The agreement was signed by Foreign Minister, Abdullah Shahid on behalf of Maldives, who is in Morocco on an official trip. Foreign Minister of Morocco signed on behalf of the country.

“Delighted to sign Visa Waiver agreement with the Kingdom of Morocco. This will pave the way for Maldivians to travel to Morocco without visas from 31st January 2020. Another momentous milestone for Maldives-Morocco relations.” said the minister in a tweet he sent out after the agreements were signed.

While Maldives continues to strengthen its ties with other countries worldwide, this is the first time a foreign minister of the Maldives has visited Morocco.
