Maldives has been donated a brand new fire engine by the Japanese government.
In a tweet sent out by National Disaster Management Authority (NMDA), the vehicle has been cleared from customs on Saturday and will be officially handed over to the Fire and Rescue Services of Maldives National Defense Force.
As part of “The Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Project (GGP)” by the Japanese Aid, today we have received a Fire Engine.

While this fire engine was donated by Japanese Aid, 24 fire engines and 5 speed boats were also donated by the Japanese government to the Maldives to be used in fire safety operations. Reportedly,14 fire stations all over the Maldives have received these vehicles to be used in the islands.
