Commissioner General of Customs passes away

Male’, Maldives – Commissioner General of Customs of the Maldives, Mr. Ahmed Nooman has passed away on Tuesday.

According to reports on various mainstream media outlets of the country, Nooman passed away in India while seeking treatment leading to a kidney transplant.

Nooman became Commissioner General of Customs with the backing of Adhaalath Party, which took to social media in expressing the grief and sorrow the party shares with Nooman’s family at this time. The party conveyed condolences to the loved ones of Nooman, stating that the untimely passing of Nooman is a loss not just to the party, but also to the entire nation.

Prior to his appointment as Commissioner General of Customs, he was also working as the President of the Human Rights Committee of Adhaalath Party. His previously tenures include his services to FENAKA as Chairman, STELCO as well as the Housing Ministry of Maldives.
