Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced that a Maldivan who travelled into the country from the Philippines has tested positive for Covid-19.
With this, the number of positive cases in the Maldives has risen to 20, while 13 have recovered, and 2 had left the country prior to the test results coming back positive, leaving 5 locals in recovery.
It is likely that the individual who tested positive today was already in quarantine when tested positive as the Maldives has been putting an all individuals arriving into the country into quarantine.
At present, there are 862 people in quarantine facilities across the country, according to Dr. Moosa Murad, a doctor at IGMH.
