Covid-19: Confirmed cases surpasses 2000

Male’, Maldives – Additional 27 cases have been confirmed in Maldives. The total number of cases has now reached 2,003.

HPA disclosed that as of 6 pm today, additional 27 cases of Covid-19 infection were confirmed in Maldives. They are of 14 Maldivian nationals, 12 Bangladeshi nationals and 1 of Indian nationality.

Along with the 27 cases confirmed today, the total number of confirmed cases in Maldives has now risen to 2003. Among the confirmed cases, currently there are 800 active cases in Maldives.

Although the most number of confirmed cases in Maldives are of immigrant workers living in Maldives, the majority of the recovery cases consist of Maldivian nationals.

While 1,193 cases have recovered from the virus, 8 have passed away up to date. Among the deceased are four Maldivians and four foreigners. Currently, 8 people are receiving care from the hospitals for the Covid-19.

While 742 people are held in isolation facilities, 346 people are in quarantine facilities.
