Male’, Maldives – President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed former Minister of National Planning and Infrastructure as the new Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
Aslam was presented with his letter of appointment in a ceremony held at the President’s Office. His oath was administered by Supreme Court Justice, Dr. Azmiralda Zahir.
His appointment on Sunday was following the merge of the two ministries, Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Housing and Urban development, to name the new ministry.
The change came about less than a day after the former Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Aminath Athifa resigned citing health issues.
The new change has assigned all responsibilities and employees of the former ministry over to Minister Aslam.
