Malé, Maldives — Additional 22 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed and 94 recoveries have been recorded in Maldives.
As of 6 pm of June 14, HPA confirmed additional 22 cases of:
- 09 Maldivians
- 09 Bangladeshis
- 02 Nepaleses
- 01 Indian
- 01 Thai
The National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) revealed that one of the positive cases confirmed today includes a 83 year old Maldivian. This individual has a history of hypertension and long-term illness making the patient a potentially high risk case.
Including the 22 cases, the confirmed number of cases in Maldives has now increased to 2,035. Among the confirmed cases, currently there are 714 active cases in Maldives.
Along with the 94 recoveries, the total number of recovered cases in Maldives is now at 1,311.
Up to date, 8 have passed away from the virus in Maldives. Among the deceased are 4 foreigners and 4 Maldivians. The 4 Maldivians that passed away were senior citizens.
Maldives will be easing lockdown starting from Monday. For the first time in two months, Malé residents will be able to go out without a permit.
