Male’, Maldives – The biggest donation to Maldives during the Covid-19 pandemic was made by India, said President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in a press conference on Tuesday.
President Solih detailed that the aid provided by India was not just limited to financial support, but also food and medicine during this tough time. He also added that India has more support lined up of Maldives in the upcoming days as well.
It was also highlighted that 36 patients are to be transported from Maldives to India to receive treatments which are not available in the Maldives, under a special approval from the Indian Home Ministry, despite the borders of India being closed.
The current administration has been maintaining a very strong bond with India.
