Covid-19: Additional 33 confirmed cases and 19 recoveries.

Malé, Maldives — HPA has confirmed an additional 33 Covid-19 cases and 19 recoveries in Maldives over the past 24 hours. 

HPA disclosed that, between 6pm of July 4 and 6pm of July 5, additional 33 cases were confirmed for the virus in Maldives. They are:

  • 12 Maldivian nationals
  • 18 Bangladeshi nationals
  • 03 Indian nationals

With these 33 confirmed cases, Maldives now has a total of 2,468 confirmed Covid-19 cases. However, currently among these cases, there are only 403 active cases in Maldives.

While 33 people tested positive for the virus today, 12 made complete recoveries from the virus over the past 24 hours. Along with these recoveries, a total of 2,049 people have completely recovered from the virus in Maldives. The recovery rate of Maldives is now at 83%.

Up to date, 11 have passed away from Covid-19 in Maldives. The deceased are 6 elderly Maldivian nationals, 4 Bangladeshi nationals and a Filipino national.

The latest death was recorded on approximately 01:52 am of June 5th. It was of a 77 year old Maldivian female who was receiving critical care at the DH11 facility of Dharumavantha Hospital. She is known as to be the wife of the 92 year old patient who also had passed away due to Covid-19 two days ago, making this the second couple to have passed away due to the virus.

While currently there are 269 people held in Isolation facilities, 112 are in quarantine facilities at present.
