Male’, Maldives – The President of Maldives has ordered Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed to resign from his position.
The decision was announced by the Spokesperson of President’s Office, Ibrahim Hood, who stated that the President ordered Ali Waheed’s resignation, after a number of officials from the Tourism Ministry raised complaints over “multiple incidents of misconduct at the workplace” with the President and Gender Ministry.
While the spokesperson did not specify the nature of the allegations against Ali Waheed, local media outlets have reported that it involves allegations of sexual misconduct.
