Three generations of bollywoods Bachchan family tests positive for Covid-19

Mumbai, India – Officials of the India state of Maharashtra says that three generations of the high profile Bachchan family is confirmed to be tested positive for the virus.

The results revealed on Sunday showed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, 46, and her daughter, Aaradhya, 8, has tested positive for the virus.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is one of Bollywood’s most famous faces both in India and abroad. She is an actress, who featured in several Bollywood and Hollywood films. She is also the winner of the Miss World 1994 pageant and is the Goodwill Ambassador for UNAIDS. She was the first Indian actress to be a jury member at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003.

Her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, who had also tested positive for the virus along with his father, Amitabh Bachchan are currently in the isolation facility of the hospital receiving care for the virus. So far, they are known to have mild symptoms.

However, Abishek tweeted saying that his wife and daughter, Aishwarya and Aaradhya are asymptomatic and that they would be self-isolating at home.

Covid-19 is spreading throughout India at a fast phase and is now considered as the third most affected country in the world, surpassing Russia. On Sunday, India has seen a record rise in the number of corona-virus cases by 27,100. Now India has recorded over 850,000 confirmed cases and 23,725 Covid-19 related deaths. There has been complains about lack of both testing and front-line medical staffs in India.
