Male’, Maldives – Spokesperson for Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC), Dr. Nazla has been required to be home quarantined, she revealed via social media today.
In a tweet she sent out earlier tonight, she announced that she has come in contact with a family members who has since tested positive for Covid-19, due to which she has been required to stay in quarantine as per the HPA guidelines.
Dr. Nazla also reassured the public that she is doing well, and that the regular press conferences will continue, with live feed from her home.
I have come in contact with a family relative who has now tested positive for Covid19.
As per guidelines I am now in quarantine at home and Alhamdlillah I am doing well. I will continue to join the scheduled press conferences from home.

With Covid-19 cases on the rise in the Male’ region, and Maldives as a whole, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country has exceeded 5000, with more than 2,500 active cases.
